Hi,
This is my very first blog.
I have signed up to blogging website as I am passionate about the Amur Falcon.
We live close to a roost here in Heidelberg Gauteng South Africa where these birds come here for approx 5 months of the year and would like to meet up with more people that share the same passion as I do.
I would love to hear about your sightings and experiences.
This morning we took friends down to the roost to show the falcons leaving which for me is just the most amazing sight. We have about 5000 falcons in our roost.
Suddenly we sighted an eagle come through, he landed in one tree then flew out with nothing an then He flew into the huge Eucalyptus tree and it appeared he caught something has it looked like he was eating, it was difficult to see as it was still early in the morning. A large amount of Falcons left the tree but amazingly enough a large amount stayed behind whilst he was in the tree.
When the Eagle took flight all the falcons vacated the tree.
